Discover the joys and benefits of playing rugby
Engaging in rugby is not only a fantastic way for kids to stay active, but it also fosters motivation and keeps them mentally and physically fit.
Moorabbin Rugby Club have a proud history in Junior Rugby Development and we're always working hard to give our kids the best rugby experience possible.
Our Teams

Have fun, make friends, learn rugby
For Boys and girls aged 5 to 7. We offer a weekly non-contact skills program featuring fun, game-based activities designed to engage children while developing their running, movement, evasion and catching abilities. This supportive environment also encourages social interaction and connection with peers.
Pathways Program - Under 8s to Under 10s age groups
Have fun, make friends, learn rugby
Our younger age groups are given the opportunity to give rugby a go, have fun and build friendships in a supportive and inclusive environment. Kids train once or twice a week and then play a non-competition match against teams from other Clubs in the Rugby Victoria Junior Competition rounds. Discover the joys of rugby with our U8s - U10s program!
Junior Competition - Under 11s to Under 18 age groups
Unlock your potential
As our kids grow and develop, playing rugby gives them the opportunity to unlock their potential, in a safe and positive environment. For our U11s - U18s, there is a clear shift towards a more structured training and competition format allowing our older kids the chance to unlock peak performance and maximise their potential. Rugby Victoria operate a round-robin competition whereby our U11s-U18s teams get the opportunity to play weekly games against other Clubs, ending the season with a thrilling finals series. The competitions cater for all who wish to get involved with the game and while kids have the opportunity to compete and develop their skills, they also unlock all the positives of the game including great team camaraderie and life long friendships.
In the 2023 Season, we fielded a number of teams in the Rugby Victoria Junior Competition from U6s right through to U18s. Our U11s and U12s teams both made finals and our U12s finished 2nd on the ladder and named the Rugby Victoria Runners Up for 2023. In the 2024 Season, our U13s and U16s teams both made the grand finals.
