Sione Tuipulotu selected for Scotland

At the end of May Sione Tuipulotu was named in the Scotland squad ahead of a 3 Test match series against England A on June 27th, Romania on July 10 and Georgia on July 17th. Sione, who is currently playing rugby in Japan with Yamaha Jubilo had signed with Glasgow Warriors back in March to start their 2022 season.

Sione has had a great track record coming up through the Southern Districts junior ranks, playing for St Kevins at schoolboy level and being selected in the Australian schoolboys team in 2014. He was then selected for the Australian U20s squad for the World Championships in 2015,2016 & 2017. During this time, he and Rob Leota also became the first Melbourne home grown talent to sign with the Melbourne Rebels and he racked up plenty of points in the NRC playing with the Melbourne Rising.

We were fortunate enough to have Sione play with us at Moorabbin for the 2018 season, and although his heart lay with his former club Southern Districts, we couldn't have asked for a better representative from the Melbourne Rebels. Sione's efforts both on and off the field were fantastic here at Moorabbin and we know first hand the quality of the person and player that Glasgow will be receiving into their club at the start of next season.

Everyone at the Moorabbin Rugby Club would like to wish Sione all the best on his International debut with Scotland and look forward to continuing to follow his rugby journey for many years to come.
