Rams v Unicorns - Saturday 24th April

It was a big weekend at Keys Rd and the 3rd Grade kicked off the day with a tight win against a fast finishing Melbourne team. In the meantime the Ram’s Pen filled up with our generous sponsors and the DJ kicked off the days soundtrack.

The 2nd grade had a far tougher day but were unlucky not to have the scores a bit closer as handling errors let them down at crucial times during the match. But the Melbourne 2nd team never let up on the pressure and took the days honours.

Finally the 1st Grade took to the field and Melbourne held a narrow lead going into the half time break. The Rams boys came out in the second half into heavy rain and scored two quick tries. They then pressured the Unicorns line with a very physical brand of rugby. However, momentum shifted back the Unicorns way in the last 15 mins of the game and they clawed back two tries to secure the win.

We”d like to wish Melbourne all the best for the season and look forward to the rematch down the track. Thanks to everyone that turned up and did their bit to make it a great day despite the weather. See you all next week back at Keys Road when we face Footscray.
