May 2022 - Club Update

The staggered start to the season will see the pathways teams (U6-U10s) kick off this weekend and we look forward to all players parents and volunteers having an equally positive start as our other juniors and seniors have enjoyed so far.  As the junior draws land, we will keep you informed and hopefully, we get as many junior teams playing at Keys Rd this weekend.Date set for Jack McDavitt DayThe Jack McDavitt Day will be held on 18 June 2022 with a luncheon followed by the Dewar Shield match Moorabbin V Powerhouse. The traditional Hangi will be pulled up and made available for purchase prior to post-match entertainment. We look forward to hosting Kiwi-Hawthorn members on the day as well. The Dewar Shield men’s and women’s teams will wear blue socks at our game on 18 June 2022 and we hope you all get behind the fundraiser on the day. Please watch this space for more information.Island Night The traditional Island night with the usual dancing, singalong and traditional food will be held on the 21st of May, 2022 at the Moorabbin V Endeavour Hills game. Get your favourite Bula shirt, lengthen that sarong, Longi, Sulus and boogie down at Rams HQ! Dewar Shield Competition The competition is going to be tight this year with major teams Quins and Melbourne is posting strong results in all grades and Endeavour Hills and Box Hill emerging once again as polished sides. Our lads have had a strong start winning both games but will be tested by a rampaging Box Hill team as we play away this weekend.Brighton Grammar Season LaunchWe are pleased to host APS rugby heavy-weights Brighton Grammar School in their season launch and major 1st XV and 2nd XV clashes against Trinity Grammar, competing for the Cardiff Cup on Friday 13 May 2022 (this week) from 5:15 pm. With many of our key junior players competing on the night please come and support our local community school’s rugby teams and watch some exciting live rugby.Have a great rest of the week and see you at the grounds!
