Get ready for the Moorabbin Touch season

Hello Captains,

I hope you’re all fighting fit and keen for some sunshine and some more social touch football at Harold Caterson Reserve, Keys Rd Moorabbin.

The Moorabbin Touch committee and I have started preparing a bit earlier this year. We’ve taken on your feedback from 2023 and are keen to make this year bigger and better than last year.

Please note, we will be keeping the free BBQ and drinks for best on ground.

These are the important dates:

Come and try nights 16th and 23rd August.


FINALS: Top two ranked teams from each division on 29th November. 

Social games for all other teams.
No games played on 27th September, 4th October and 1st November

Competition Rules
Part of being more organised is having rules we will enforce so everyone has fun, gets a game, and it is as fair as possible.

  1. If you are having trouble fielding a team, please let us know via this email (moorabbintouchfootball@gmail.com) by 5pm Thursday the week of the round. Failure to do this may see a forfeit fee of $50 being charged to your team.
  2. Open Division is for players 15 years and over.
  3. Juniors must be 18 years or younger. Juniors can turn or be turning 18 in 2024.
  4. Maximum of 3 males on the field.
  5. All players must sign-on each week to qualify for finals. A minimum of 5 games must be played for your team to qualify.
  6. Uniform must be at least matching tops with unique back numbers. We will be providing uniform (at cost) if you are struggling with this.
  7. We’d like to ramp up our social media presence but want to respect people who are not keen to be on there. We’ll need to hear from anyone choosing the opt out before the competition starts.
  8. Weather policy – guided by TFA extreme weather guidelines. Generally assume we are playing but check social media and with your captains for an updates. For total cancellations we will notify captains and social media as early as possible. Local lightning and hail will see matches paused until it has stopped. Exterme heat will see games modified including later starts and/or longer or more frequent breaks.

Uniform

Team uniforms will be compulsory this season. All tops must be the same colour and have clearly marked unique back numbers. If you can’t or don’t want to organise this Moorabbin Touch has kit ready to go for seniors and juniors. It will cost $300 for a set of 13 shirts of various sizes.

Cost

For the 2024 season the cost will be Social Mixed $950 and Juniors $750.
