Community Rugby strong as ever at Moorabbin
A crowd of over 3000 rugby fans flocked to Kingston City's Moorabbin Rugby Club to witness Super Rugby teams the Melbourne Rebels face off against the NSW Waratahs in their first trial match of the season. Featuring Wallabies players Taniela Tupou, Carter Gordon and Pone Fa'amausili, the match didn't disappoint local fans with the Rebels putting on a strong display and taking the win 38-12. The Super rugby match was the highlight of a full day of rugby activities at the Club which included a training session for the Rebels Women's team and the launch of the Junior pre-season which was enjoyed by over 100 kids.
The sun was shining bright and it was an all round great day for community rugby in Victoria. We'd like to thank City of Kingston Mayor Jenna Davey-Burns, Councillor Hadi Saab, Rebels CEO Baden Stephenson, GM of Rugby Nick Stiles, the support staff from both the Rebels and the Waratahs for attending. We'd also like to thank the players from both teams and all of our club volunteers who chipped in to make the day a fantastic success.
Bring on Season 2024!!
