2020 Alumni Update
With the finals of many rugby comps that are still running around the world coming up, we thought we'd do a quick catch up on a few former Rams that are running around in other paddocks.
NSW:
Rodney Iona is heading into the Finals with Gordon Rugby Club in the Shute Shield Comp. He has had a great season with the Stags and played some great rugby for them.
Tetera Faulkner went back to take the field with Southern Districts after his year with the Waratahs wrapped up. He was also very happy to get the chance to rack up his 50th game for the club.
Jordan and Alex Fowles as well as Oisin Clarken are all still playing for the Warringah Rats. Oisin made a comeback this year after a tough injury cut his season short in 2019.
George Noa has found a home in Newcastle with the Newcastle & Hunter Rugby Union Wildfires and has played well in the back row for them all year.
Emmanuel “ Manny” Maliko has stepped up into the Senior ranks with the Western Sydney Two Blues and has made the No 8 jersey his own.
Oliver "Oli" Barden has been playing Seniors this year with Randwick. He has been a part of the NSW Academy and played for the Junior Wallabies last year.
Japan:
Joe Kamana is still doing well in Japan and has played this year with the Coca-Cola Red Sparks after 4 years with the Mazda Blue Zoomers.
France:
John Ulugia signed with Aviron Bayonnais this year but unfortunately the Top 14 season was halted after 4 games due to the effects of the Corona outbreak. He had played previously at Clermont for 6 very successful years.
Afaesetiti “Afa”Amosa has been playing with Bordeaux Bègles since 2018 in the Top 14 competition. Last year he was selected to play for Samoa at the Rugby World Cup.
ACT:
Yabaki "Beks" Seeto is still in ACT playing with the Queanbeyan Whites senior team. Last year he was selected in Fijis U20 team for the World Cup in Argentina.
Remsy Lemiso is playing with the Tuggeranong Vikings colts but has had regular appearances with the Seniors this year. He is also part of the Brumbies Academy team.
The Gungahlin Eagles has a host of ex Rams running around for them this year. Pete Samu is a part of the club but has been called into the Wallabies squad. Lualua Vailoaloa is still backing up for all 3 grades when needed and is covering nearly every position on the field outside of the tight five. Antonio Vailoaloa is also running around for the Eagles when work allows.
David Sega is playing as often as his body allows and his son Titan Sega is doing very well in the Colts competition and has played a few Senior games.
New Zealand:
Tony Lamborn has joined the Southland Stags in Otago and has taken on the role of Captain after a great season with the Blues. The Stags are doing well at the moment and currently sitting in third place of the Championship Division of the Mitre 10 Cup.
And to wrap it up Tui and Paul Tuiatua are back and playing with their brothers Lucky and James for Marist and St Pats RFC in Wellington. If you'd care to look up the club's YouTube channel you will see the impact the family is having on the rest of the competition.
Apologies to anyone missed in this write up but please feel free to drop us a line because we'd love to hear how and where you're involved with this great game of ours.
